Regional Court Administrators Body Rolled Out

An umbrella body for court administrators in East Africa is already taking shape. This was the outcome of the agenda, Towards Establishment of Court administrators as a profession in the East African Region held at Imperial Royale June 26, 2015. The 10 member team were given an interim period of one year. Mr Jolly Joe Ssonko was elected president of Association of Court Administrators of East Africa (ACAEA) Ugandan chapter while Mr. Timothy Onangu was asked to steer the Kenyan chapter.

Judicial Probe into UNRA Commences Public Hearings

A commission of inquiry into allegations of mismanagement, abuse of office and corrupt practices in the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has commenced public hearings. The five-member Judicial Commission, chaired by High Court’s Lady Justice Catherine Bamugemereire, will conduct its sessions at the Imperial Royale Hotel’s Equator Hall in Kampala. "We are opening to the public,” confirmed Hon. Lady Justice Bamugemereire.
